Army Eyes Options To Improve AMD From Future EW Attack

An influential Army advisory panel this month is due to recommend actions - including new investments - to increase the resilience of the service's air and missile defense systems to electronic warfare attack, examining a portfolio that includes the Patriot, Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) and the Theater High Altitude Area Defense programs. The Army Science Board this month is scheduled to finalize recommendations of the "Air and Missile Defense Electronic Warfare Assessment" study, commissioned by Army Secretary John McHugh in March that aims to map a 10-year plan to improve defenses against electronic attack. On Sept. 18, the advisory panel - led by George Singley - is due to meet in Charlottesville, VA, to complete its assessment of the Army's air and missile defense systems' ability to operate in an advanced electronic attack environment, according to an Aug. 27 Federal Register notice.
