摘要

The Senate Armed Services Committee wants the Pentagon to make a decision as to whether a program designed to strike a target anywhere in the world in less than an hour using non-nuclear weapons should be a program of record. The committee's fiscal year 2016 defense authorization bill calls for the defense secretary to "make a milestone A decision for the Conventional Prompt Global Strike weapon system no later than September 30, 2020, or eight months after the successful completion of Intermediate Range Flight 2 of that system, whichever is earlier," according to the bill's summary.
