Republican senator claims missile defense is now bi-partisan issue

A Republican senator says the quickening progression of North Korea's nuclear missile program has made missile defense a more bi-partisan issue in this year's defense authorization debate. "As some of you know, missile defense used to be kind of viewed through a partisan lens, and some of my colleagues on the other side of the aisle weren't so enthusiastic about it," Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-AK) said during a July 26 Heritage Foundation event. "I think that dynamic is changing dramatically, and it's changing because everybody sees what the threat is."
