The Pentagon is gearing up to release a set of broad agency announcements within the next month seeking industry and academia's input into technologies needed to test future warfighting capabilities, according to a Defense Department testing official. Speaking at an April 18 National Defense Industrial Association event in Washington, George Rumford, the test and evaluation/science and technology program manager for DOD's Test Resource Management Center, said the BAAs will seek test technology solutions for eight different areas: high speed systems; unmanned and autonomous systems; spectrum efficiencies; advanced instrumentation; directed energy; cyberspace; electronic warfare; and command, control, communications and computers and intelligence software intensive systems.
