Conventional gas production by 2020 could drop to below n50% of Western Canada’s total output, from 70% of its current n14.3 Bcf/d, unless the industry develops a long-term strategy tondeal with the low-cost shale gas flooding North American mar-nkets and to head off prospective losses of production, jobs and ngovernment revenue, an industry analyst said recently.
