摘要

Developments in drilling technology may have inspired a domestic oil boom in the Northwest's Bakken formation, but insufficient takeaway infrastructure is driving North Dakota producers to flare as much about one-third of the gas developed in the state.rnNorth Dakota's Department of Mineral Resources estimated the state produced 86.69 Bcf of gas in 2008, of which 56.71 Bcf - or 65% - was sold. In the Bakken formation, which in 2008 produced about 21% of the state's gas, only 56% of the 18.07 Bcf of production was sold, according to the DMR.
