摘要

Due to rapid industrialization and urbanization,there has been a significant increase in the generation of solid waste. The adverse impact of non-biodegradable waste is significantly higher compared to that of bio-degradable waste. The non-biodegradable waste cannot be decomposed by microbial activities, and hence remain intact in nature for a much longer period of time. Various types of plastic waste are among the most dangerous non-biodegradable waste. The use of plastic products in industrial and household applications has increased significantly over the past few years, hence the rate of generation of plastic waste generation has also gone up. Many researchers across the globe are trying to identify different methods to upcycle and recycle plastic waste to reuse them in various applications in different industries.
