Global positioning system (GPS) enables tracking people and places around the world by using maps. However, it does not work well inside buildings due to lack of GPS signals. Hence, indoor positioning system (IPS) has been gaining popularity among startup companies, and has been helping consumers and enterprises to pinpoint users or stores inside buildings. However, there is a need for a proper indoor floorplan database, which would allow people to access maps when they are inside a building.
