RBa_2Cu_3O_7-x(R=Tm, Lu) crystals up to 5×7×0.8 mm in size are grown from RO_2O_3-BaO-CuO off-stoichiometric melts. The morphology of the crystals and growth mechanisms are discussed. The crystals are characterized by chemical analysis, electron probe microanalysis, and superconductivity measurements.
