Responding to growing market demand for galacto-oligosaccharides

The Dutch FrieslandCampina Domo and the Australian Warrnambool Cheese & Butter Factory have officially opened the Great Ocean Ingredients plant in Allansford,Australia. Great Ocean Ingredients is a 50/50 joint venture between the two companies. The construction of the new plant means that FrieslandCampina Domo can continue to meet the growing demand for prebiotic galacto-oligosaccharides. These are marketed under the brand name Vivinal~® GOS and used in infant nutrition, dairy products and drinks.rnThe opening of the new plant was attended by the Australian Minister for Regional and Rural Development for Victoria, the Dutch Honorary Consul, representatives of the Executive Board of FrieslandCampina and Warrnambool Cheese & Butter Factory (WCB) and the local business community.
