Eating a variety of fruits and vegetables rich in the antioxidant quercetin may boost endurance. This is revealed in a study published in the International Journal of Sports Nutrition and Exercise Metabolism. Quercetin is a compound believed to have multiple antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and cell-energy activation properties found in red apples, vegetables and tearnTests on whether quercetin supplements benefit energy productions, were carried out on men and women, aged about 23. Tests related to riding a stationary bike and maximum oxygen intake after drinking Tang containing 500mg quercetin. Oxygen uptake improved four per cent, thus boosting endurance levels.
