Facebook Open Sources Its Data Center Design

Facebook has done more than craft a more energy efficient server for the new mega data center it's building in Oregon. Borrowing from the open source software model, it's also giving the design of that server away, hoping others will add their own innovations and deliver systems that are even less expensive to run.
