Las Vegas is known for its casinos and entertainment attractions. So when ASIDIC held its Spring 2003 Meeting there March 30-April 1, you might wonder whether the location would distract attendees from the event's program. Fortunately, this did not occur. Despite the external distractions, the room remained full and the interest level was high. Titled "What's Next: The Future of the Information Industry," the meeting was marked by several recurring themes: the rising expectations of information users, globalization of organizations, flexibility in merging internal and external data, users' opposition to bundling, and information portals.
