LETTER FROM THE EDITOR

As 2007 comes to an end, I'd like to take a moment to pause and reflect on issues past and present.rnThroughout the year, we've quoted and quipped and tracked and traced a variety of news and trends around the globe. We've covered conferences in all corners of the world, from IFLA in South Africa to the SIIA Content conference in San Francisco and all points in between. We've seen search engines launch a provocative ad campaign (Ask.com) and take a new spin on "Getification." We've also had a chance to get up close and personal with industry visionaries (Tim O'Reilly) and said farewell to industry legends (Martha Williams). And we've seen a flurry of M&As this year (think ProQuest and CSA) and Q&As from IT headliners (think John Ingram) as the information industry continues to evolve.
