Bibliotheca showcased its new library solutions, based on RFID technology at the ALA Midwinter Meeting in January. Among the systems were the Orion and Jupiter SelfChecks, automated stations that allow patrons to check out material; Biblio Mobile StaffStation, a mobile device that can be used in conjunction with a netbook to perform automated inventory functions; BiblioReturn, an automated after-hours return device; and BiblioSorter, an automated sorting station. Also displayed was the BiblioGate VI, a security gate that provides statistics on patron usage and foot traffic. All of Bibliotheca's systems and devices are designed to incorporate RFID technology and interoperability with integrated library systems.
