Facebook opted to use dgdiscover, a security tool developed by dataguise, to automatically identify sensitive information posted to the social networking site and take necessary steps to protect the data. Facebook deployed the tool across its corporate MySQL and Oracle databases, where it will search for data within the company's unstructured repositories and identify information such as credit card numbers and Social Security numbers.
