The Viewpoint column by Barbara Quint in the February 2012 issue ["Will Libraries Vanish?"] was excellent and the subject needs to be addressed by Librarians. There is one sentence in the article that is seminal to the future of librarianship: These guardians may ...do fine work in designing high-quality prod-ucts, but someone who works directly for the user may not have any conflict of interest with com-pany interests.
