The other day, I interviewed an executive from one of the leading discovery engine companies that is launching a major upgrade to the service this summer. There was one note in the press release that popped out at me, and he confirmed it. It was actually something nice to hear from any information industry vendor targeting the library market today. "Something nice?" you ask. A major upgrade to a product built around careful study of 4 years of heavy usage and burgeoning content coverage (from a couple million items to more than 1 billion). OK, Summon 2.0 is on its way from Serials Solutions, a ProQuest company.
