The importance of outcomes assessment in higher education has grown and is now more necessary than ever. Governments and other bodies are looking at a wide variety of means of assessing success. How can we tell if college works? Is it worth the costs to individuals and society? What are students getting from it? Libraries must understand current trends in assessment in order to keep pace on campus and to prove their own worth. In this fast-changing area, expert guidance is much appreciated. These three editors provide us with excellent information on the current state of outcomes assessment. This new book complements two earlier works, Outcomes Assessment in Higher Education (2004) and Revisiting Outcomes Assessment in Higher Education (2006).
