IFLA Celebrates Dynamic Libraries at Its Cape Town Conference

Cape Town, South Africa, hosted the 81st IFLA (International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions) General Conference and Assembly-more commonly known as the World Library and Information Congress (WLIC; conference.ifla .org)-Aug. 15-21. In the shadow of Table Mountain and looking out on the Atlantic Ocean, the 3,190 attendees enjoyed a packed program of business meetings, social and cultural events, poster sessions, and educational programs. Although fewer people attended than in the previous 2 years, all seemed happy with the venue.
