News Deeply: An Analyze-and-Explain News Provider

Over the last year or so, Database Review has been tracking new publishing models for news, as both legacy and emergent news properties reshape how news is gathered, interpreted, and presented. Recent reviews have discussed the following: 1. FiveThirtyEight, which applies data-driven statistical analysis to bring fresh takes to conventional wisdom (July/August 2014) 2. Vox, which uses several expository techniques to explain complex news events (October 2014) 3. The Washington Post's Wonk-blog, The New York Times' The Upshot, Bloomberg's Quick-Take, and Pew Research Center's Fact Tank, which all boil down news into short analytical summaries (June 2015).
