Selected Security and Legal Issues in E-Commerce

If a developer started selling or exporting a newly developed encryption technology without prior approval of various regulating agencies, he or she would be tied up in court for quite some time. In this article, the authors discuss the legal challenges to export of encryption technology and explain the process of applying for export licenses.
