Tech manufacturing managers top salary survey

Manufacturing managers producing computer equipment and peripherals were top earners on the 2021 Industry Week salary survey, earning an average annual salary of 5177,167. Industrial engineering-related industries ranking in the top 20 in salaries included industrial machinery ($109,813), other manufacturing ($101,858) and additive manufacturing ($97,600). Specific job salaries ranking in the top 20 included director of manufacturing production/supply chain ($162,938), Lean continuous improvement management ($124,500), engineering management ($123,589), supply chain/ logistics ($103,925), quality management ($100,375), operations management ($97,406), manufacturing production management ($91,770) and plant facilities management ($91,720). Female respondents made up 17% of the survey, down 2% from 2019, and made an average salary of $85,053. Men were 79% of respondents with an average salary of $120,362. (4% of respondents did not share gender data). One female respondent who works in supply chain management at a transportation equipment company remarked, "Gender inequality has not changed over the past 20 years - it is still the 'good ole boys club.'"
