Outgoing Miami chapter president cherishes her chance to serve

I still remember the first time I heard about the Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers while at the University of Miami. In Methods Analysis and Work Measurement, my professor assigned us to become IISE members. I had no idea why she made us do it or what the point would be. That was really the only time I heard about the organization and quickly forgot about it. Fast forward to second semester that year when my research professor told me I should attend the Annual Conference to hear our team present research. The University of Miami supported students to go if they were members of the chapter and nationals. I began my active membership in IISE that has shaped my undergraduate career and given me so many professional development, networking and service opportunities.
