Fine grinding with diamond and cBN

摘要

Due to the high costs involved in the disposal of the slurry arising from lapping, the cleaning of the workpieces and the constant need to develop more efficient manufacturing methods, a new precision machining technique based on the process of plane parallel lapping has become established. The use of bonded ultrahard abrasive tools is essential for this technique to be used to economic advantage. The method, which as yet has not been defined more precisely in any standards, is referred to in the industry as fine grinding, flat honing or lapping grinding.
