摘要

When ceramic tiling systems or brick walls fail due to differential movement of the system components, one of the important considerations is to determine the moisture expansion characteristics of the ceramic products involved. This paper considers the methods traditionally used to predict past moisture expansion, highlighting a recently identified potential deficiency that is sometimes associated with one of the most commonly used methods. Discussion of the problem may assist investigators to derive unique solutions for their own particular requirements.
