摘要

There is a need to produce dense, fine grained advanced ceramics on a relatively fast production scale, but with a reduction in the heterogenities currently present in mass produced bodies. Although colloidal processing offers the desired microstructural control, it is at present both time consuming and hence expensive. To reduce component costs it is necessary to shorten the processing time. One possible method is by the use of microwave energy during the casting process.
