Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India has set silk goods exports target of 940 million US$ (Rs.4325 crore) for the year 2010-11. Looking forward to the improvement in global economy and the steady demand of Indian silk goods particularly from small markets of Asia region, in addition to the traditional major markets like U.S.A., and the European countries, it is anticipated that value of silk goods exports during the year 2010-11 would reach around to 710 million US$ (Rs.3250 crore).
