Incense Stick from Silkworm Excreta

摘要

Several value-added byproducts from sericulture and silk activities have helped the stakeholders to earn additional revenue and make sericulture industry more viable. The authors present here the details of their attempt to use the silkworm excreta in the preparation of incense sticks. Sericulture is practiced primarily to get silk, while it also provides many of the by-products and even its wastes can be utilized to prepare innovative value-added products. These by-products fetch additional income to the silkworm rearers and make production of silk more cost-efficient.
