Consistent efforts are being made to improve productivity by containing the crop losses caused by various diseases. A new botanical formulation -Rakshak, developed recently by Silkworm Seed Technology Laboratory, Bangalore has reduced the disease incidence and as a result, enhanced the cocoon yield significantly, as vindicated by the results of the experiments conducted in Kamataka, Uttarakhand and West Bengal.
