Research Designs Standards Organisation, situated at Lucknow, is the sole R&D organisation of Indian Railways and functions as the technical advisor to Railway Board, Zonal Railways and Production Units. RDSO, an ISO 9000:2015 organisation, is headed by Director General & ex-officio General Manager, who is assisted by Additional Director Generals, Principal Executive Directors, Executive Directors and Heads of Departments.
