The department plays a vital role in increasing line capacity by addition of auto signalling, intermediate block signalling or upgradation to new signalling technology. Types of signalling and main signalling gears Along with the addition of assets, the process of data acquisition and remote monitoring of train movements is also being stepped up. All the signalling gears of the stations are connected to dataloggers which are networked with the divisional control server through a 2 Mbps stream. On line monitoring facility is also extended to remote locations via the Railnet.
