摘要

Generation of coherent vacuum ultraviolet radiation particularly near and below 200 nm by nonlinear laser techniques in crystalline media has been reviewed. Crystals of potential interest briefly discussed include beta barium borate, lithium triborate, cesium triborate, cesium lithium borate and strontium, beryllium boron oxide. Out of various applications o such high peak radiation, we here highlighted disinfection of drinking water by ultraviolet radiation.
