On the record of herring bow crab Varuna litterata (Fabricius, 1798) from Cochin Backwaters, India

摘要

Present study is on the record of occurrence of the herring bow crab, Varuna litterata from Cochin Backwaters. Study reveals that V. litterata occur in the Cochin Backwaters plentifully throughout the year and are found to be an inhabitant of mangrove regions and prefer areas with close proximity to the sea having good tidal influx.
