Analysis of Inorganic Nonmetallic Constituents in Drinking Water

Historically, Maihar is an important place in the Central India. Millions of people from all over the country visit for Darshan of Goddess Sharda-Mata. This town is also an important place with well developed cement industries and a number of lime companies. Paper describes the presence of inorganic nonmetallic constituents, like chloride, fluoride, sulphate, phosphate and nitrate-nitrogen in the surface and ground water in the Maihar region. All parameters are within the permissive limit of WHO. It is recommended that drinking water with higher fluoride concentration must be tested for defluorination before use.
