摘要

The reaction of equimolar mixture of copper and zinc powders with aqueous solution of imidazole (HIm) (1:1:2) and only in the presence of excess hydrogen peroxide results in the formation of a novel homogeneous mixed metal peroxo complex [Cu, Zn (O_2~(2-))_2(0.5 HIm)(H_2O)_3]. The above reaction, when carried out in the absence of zinc, gives a new compound [Cu(O_2~(2-))(0.5 HIm)(H_2O)_2]. These compounds have been characterized by elemental analysis, electronic, IR and ESR spectral data and thermo-gravimetric analysis. It is interesting to note the mutual influence of Cu and Zn on the formation of a novel hetero nuclear peroxy imidazole complex.
