摘要

Blended cements containing glassy blast-furnace slag exhibit improved resistance to chloride penetration. This study attempts to improve the understanding of the relationships between ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS) replacement levels and water-binder ratio of concrete and its comprcssive strength and chloride permeability. It was found that concretes containing slag gain substantial compressive strength beyond the 28-day period. Also, it was found that though in plain concrete, the chloride permeability of the concrete matrix reduces almost linearly as the strength increases, in the case of concrete containing GGBS, substantial improvement in the resistance to chloride penetration am be achieved even at lower levels of compressive strength.
