Refining pozzolana - The greener alternative

As the cement industry is challenged to minimise its environmental impact, they must motivate themselves to explore new initiatives to reduce our emissions profile. One strategy many cement companies are exploring is Supplementary Cementitious Materials. To support this effort, FLSmidth has developed a system for producing a highly activated synthetic pozzolan with a colour similar to cement...without a kiln. This patent-pending process addresses current challenges with pozzolan production to create a product which can potentially allow substitution of clinker in cemeni at rates in the order of 50 percent.
