Construction of cut and cover tunnel using precast slabs - An experience

This paper presents the details of the first Road tunnel construction project in Delhi executed by adopting part precast and part in-situ techniques. Delhi Metro's engineers, who have been involved in the project from planning to completion share their experience. Introduction This is a case study of Northern Access Road connecting Dwarka roundabout near Domestic Airport to New Terminal (Generally known as T3), Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) at Delhi through at grade roads, approach ramps and a 376 m twin-tunnel under the flying path of runway no. 10/28 (Figure 1).
