摘要

Success and sustenance of hybrid rice technology solely depend on the successful production of F_1 hybrid seeds. Synchronization of flowering between the seed parent (A line) and pollen parent (R line) play a pivotal role in successful hybrid rice seed production. The flowering period of rice completely depends on the progress on the developmental stages of panicle. In rice, the initiation of panicle primordium starts about 30 days before heading. The aim of the present study is to find out the simple procedure to identify the developmental stages of panicle of parental lines i,e IR 58025A(seed parent or A line) and KMR 3 (pollen parent or R line) of hybrid rice variety KRH 2 by measuring the distance between auricles of flag leaf and penultimate leaf.
