Human Exposure to Radio Frequency Emissions

It's been over eight years since the FCC revised its guidelines (FCC Guide-lines) for human exposure to radio frequency (RF) emissions, and there still appears to be some misinformation being promulgated regarding compliance with the- Guidelines. While these guidelines are somewhat more stringent than the guidelines previously in effect, they are not particularly onerous for Public Safety radio licensees which, in most cases, are categorically excluded from routine evaluation of their radio facilities for compliance. It should be noted that the FCC Guidelines constitute exposure limits, not emissions limits, and they are relevant only to locations that are accessible to workers or members of the public. Further, all radio facilities, even those categorically excluded from routine evaluation, must meet the guidelines.
