History and Tradition Combine with New LED Lighting Technology in Arraiolos,Portugal

Historic Portuguese town receives 50 percent energy savings thanks to LED technology by OSCRAM Opto Semiconductors The streets in the historic center of Arraiolos, Portugal have recently been illuminated by energy efficient light-emitting diode (LED) technology, used in combination with an intelligent lighting management system. The project, the first of its kind in the country, was realized by Schreder, a manufacturing company for street lighting, in cooperation with OSRAM Opto Semiconductors, and, in the future will ensure energy savings of approximately 50 percent.
