摘要

It is very important for oceanography science to obtain realtime observation data of environmental information. OceanSense aims to build an integrated sensor network system for environment surveillance on the sea. The focus of this work is to acquire and analyze information about environment factors such as temperature, light, sea depth, etc. By deploying a wireless sensor network of twenty sensor nodes offshore, we are able to achieve continuous surveillance on the sea environment. Meanwhile, OceanSense includes its special development platform for building sensor network application and presenting the observation data. The web portal is constructed on this development platform, which helps to exhibit all the observation data in realtime. Moreover, about one year of observation data through OceanSense are packed for downloading in the web portal. To our knowledge, OceanSense is the first offshore deployment of the wireless sensor network, which helps the oceanography researchers by providing realtime observation data and by presenting all these data through the visualization tools of its application development platform.
