A Study on TCP Performance of Android Tablet Devices

Tablet devices are expected to account for a large portion of the Internet traffic in the near future due to their increasing shipments. As an open source platform, Android has been attracting interests from many communities. In this paper, we analyze the performance of TCP communication on Android tablet devices. We examine the TCP behaviors of Android tablet devices in various conditions by using a network emulator. We show the analysis results and point out possible improvements.
