Active noise barriers for reduction of diffraction noise caused by traffics and building facilities etc. have been previously considered. The goal of those studies is to reduce the sound pressure level at a distance in large space. In this paper, some kinds of active noise control strategies in order to expand the reduction regions are overviewed. Firstly, Multi-channel feedforward control of a large space obtained by extracting an optimal reference signal is presented. In the next section, the authors present virtual error signals derived from near-field sensor signals which can reduce the far-field sound pressure. Finally, the effect of reflections in the transfer paths is considered.%屋外設備機器や高速道路などの障壁からの回折音を能動制御する試みは古くからおこなわれている.
