A universal dynamic simulation model of gas pipeline networks

A model for simulating the dynamic behavior of gas distribution pipeline networks is developed. An integral part of this work is a presentation of a new implicit integration method and a special “crossing-branch method.” The first method can accomodate systems exhibiting both slow and fast responses and prevents numerical oscillations in the solution. In the crossing-branch method, the solution of very large systems describe by sparse matrices is provided. It is based upon special properties of the matrix, which in comparison with methods assuming general matrices, makes the numerical solution more effective. Based on these methods a universal model for simulating the network of any structure of arbitrary size was created. The original theoretical means implemented into this program package lead to its high efficiency — the accuracy and the extremely small memory and time demands illustrated in Chapter IV. Examples of model testing and use are given.
