Elimination of spurious solutions in the calculation of eigenmodes by moment method

摘要

In this paper the origin of nonphysical solutions obtained with Galerkin's method is described. To remove these spurious solutions a practical criterion is derived. It is shown on a patch resonator example with expansion functions satisfying edge conditions, that spurious solutions generated by the conventional approach are eliminated by the application of the proposed method.
