Electromagnetic Properties of a New Ferrite-Ceramic Composite Material

NiCuZn ferrite–CaCu$_{3}$ Ti$_{4}$ O$_{12}$ composite materials which possess both capacitive and inductive properties for suppressing electromagnetic interference (EMI) were synthesized by a solid-state reaction. As the CaCu$_{3}$ Ti$_{4}$ O$_{12}$ content increases from 1 to 30 wt%, the $varepsilon prime$ of the composites measured at 100 Hz increases from 35 to 12 000 while the $mu prime$ of the composites measured at 100 kHz decreases from 1800 to 27. The microstructures of the sintered ceramics were observed and analyzed by scanning electron microscopy. The influences of different composition on the electromagnetic properties of the composites were investigated.
