We report on the magnetization process of submicron zigzag shaped Co wires fabricated by electron-beam lithography. The field dependent magnetizations and resistivities show intrinsically different types of magnetization switching by changing the orientation of the fields. The magnetization switching profiles are consistently interpreted based on the magnetostatic energetics involving domain wall energy created at the zigzag corners. The present results support our previous picture for the reduction of the resistivity due to domain walls.
