This paper describes the design, electrical, and optical testnresults for a high-speed 32-channel CMOS vertical-cavity surfacenemitting laser (VCSEL) driver integrated circuits with built-innself-test and clock generation circuitry. The circuit design and siliconnparts are available to the research community through the Consortium fornOptical and Optoelectronic Technologies in Computing (CO-OP) and thenOptoelectronics Industry Association (OIDA). This device is specificallyntargeted at users building VCSEL-based smart photonic systemndemonstrators. A ten-channel version of this driver chip is alsonavailable with the same functionality and performance
